GREAT book Sammy!! Love you and Mat and now love this well-crafted cookbook。
Sophia,
Already one of my favorite cookbooks。 Everything I’ve cooked so far has turned out perfect which is rare for me when following a recipe!
Melanie,
Such a great cookbook! Lots of healthy receipes and easy to follow would highly recommend
Becky,
This book has dozens of great recipes that are healthy/focused on whole ingredients without being overly complicated or requiring hard-to-find health foods。 I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of recipes as well as their accessibility。 The recipes are simple enough for someone with relatively little experience in the kitchen to successfully complete and interesting enough for practiced cooks to enjoy as well。 My kids had a great time choosing recipes to try for the upcoming weeks。
Rhiannon Johnson,
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review。I like that Sammy Moniz opens the book with a brief look into where she found her love of cooking。 She honestly states that she didn't grow up cooking alongside an adult family member and that cooking wasn't really a part of her family culture。 Her mother fed a family of seven with a rotating menu of spaghetti, tacos, and casseroles, but it wasn't so much a heartfelt declaration of love, it was a necessity。 Howeve I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review。I like that Sammy Moniz opens the book with a brief look into where she found her love of cooking。 She honestly states that she didn't grow up cooking alongside an adult family member and that cooking wasn't really a part of her family culture。 Her mother fed a family of seven with a rotating menu of spaghetti, tacos, and casseroles, but it wasn't so much a heartfelt declaration of love, it was a necessity。 However, her memories of spending time around the table are what sparked her curiosity for cooking。 Divided into fairly typical chapters covering poultry and pork; beef and lamb; seafood; sides, salads, and sandwiches; and snacks and sweets, the only variation on these sections are two large sections on breakfast (savory and sweet)。 As a big breakfast cook and eater I really loved these sections, especially the savory recipes。 I am a super fan of "Baked Chipotle Breakfast Tacos," and can't wait to try "Heirloom and Cheddar Summer Frittata," and "Corn Cake Fritter, Jalapeño Honey Butter, and Sweet & Spicy Bacon。"Come chat with me about books here, too: Blog | Instagram | Twitter | Pinterest 。。。more
Brittany,
This book has a wide variety of recipes that all sound pretty good。 There are a lot that I would try (if someone else wants to cook it for me 🤣)。 The reason for four stars is because a decent amount of recipes had a lot of ingredients required。 Is that bad? Not necessarily。 Nothing seemed outrageous or hard to come by。 However, as a mom with two young ones and a husband working shift work, making quicker recipes is more my speed。 These recipes have good and easy ones in every single section。 Som This book has a wide variety of recipes that all sound pretty good。 There are a lot that I would try (if someone else wants to cook it for me 🤣)。 The reason for four stars is because a decent amount of recipes had a lot of ingredients required。 Is that bad? I won a copy of this book。I didn't know who the Frasers were when I received my copy of this book, but they sold me on brunch foods。 This is a really simple recipe book and the food looks delicious (and in my copy all the photos are in black and white。。。)。 I won a copy of this book。I didn't know who the Frasers were when I received my copy of this book, but they sold me on brunch foods。 This is a really simple recipe book and the food looks delicious (and in my copy all the photos are in black and white。。。)。 。。。more
Jasmine from How Useful It Is,
I started cooking following the recipes from Feeding the Frasers: Family Favorite Recipes Made to Feed the Five-Time CrossFit Games Champion, Mat Fraser on 12/7/2021。 I made Roasted Garlic-Parmesan Drumsticks。 It was delicious。 I forgot to take pictures while I prepared the chicken so I’ll insert it in when I cook it again next time。 My family loved this dish and I ate it with lobster ravioli and vegetables I had。 The recipe was easy to follow。 One step I skipped in this recipe was roasting the I started cooking following the recipes from Feeding the Frasers: Family Favorite Recipes Made to Feed the Five-Time CrossFit Games Champion, Mat Fraser on 12/7/2021。 I made Roasted Garlic-Parmesan Drumsticks。 It was delicious。 I forgot to take pictures while I prepared the chicken so I’ll insert it in when I cook it again next time。 My family loved this dish and I ate it with lobster ravioli and vegetables I had。 The recipe was easy to follow。 One step I skipped in this recipe was roasting the garlic because I forgot to buy new garlic。 I did use garlic just not roasted because the garlic I had was many days old。 I also didn’t put red pepper flakes because I didn’t want it spicy。 I have never cooked my chicken with all of these ingredients before so it was good to try something new。 It looks like a lot of ingredients to deal with but it was a fast dump to a bowl。On 1/11/2022, I attempted at making Mustard-Roasted Potatoes and Asparagus。 Let me put it out there。 I have only eat mustard with hotdogs ever! But this cookbook has converted me into loving mustard in my dishes! And I loved this recipe。 It’s easy to make and it tasted yummy! The recipe again was easy to follow and I have since made this dish twice! I had shrimp available in the fridge so I just ate it with shrimp。 The second time I ate it with steak。 I’m confused by the white balsamic vinegar because at the supermarket I have only seen white vinegar or balsamic vinegar。 I substituted for rice vinegar but only put a little。 The second time I made it I skipped the vinegar altogether。 Since I have the early copy of the cookbook, the pictures in the book were black and white。 Hopefully my cooking were similar to the author’s。This cookbook opened up to a table of contents。 The organization will start in this order: Breakfast: Savory, Breakfast: Sweet, Poultry & Pork, Beef & Lamb, Seafood, Sides Salads & Sandwiches, and lastly Snacks & Sweets。 There are pictures of the author and her husband who inspired her cooking throughout the cookbook。 An introduction page told about the author growing up。 She said she didn’t grow up cooking alongside her family。 She decided to cook because of the efforts her parents made to bring family together for a meal at the end of the day。I loved the author’s personal short story at each recipe。 I loved soft-boiled eggs too while my husband preferred hard-boiled。 Her breakfast salad story made me smile。 I will have to try making that salad soon。Those Pro Tips on some of the recipes were helpful。There are so many dishes I want to eat in this cookbook。 I’m excited to try out more recipes。 Check out my cooking pictures on my blog at www。Howusefulitis。comMany thanks to St。 Martin's Press for the opportunity to read, cook, and review。 Please be assured that my opinions are honest。 。。。more
Kim,
I was a bit concerned that this Feeding the Frasers by Sammy Moniz would be filled with super healthy recipes that needed a bunch of special ingredients, but that is not what this cookbook is about at all。 Instead you will find recipes that you actually want to make and probably have many if not all of the ingredients for already! We had been planning a New Year’s Brunch and I kept finding yet another recipe that I wanted to make for it。 Who wouldn’t want to come to a brunch were you were served I was a bit concerned that this Feeding the Frasers by Sammy Moniz would be filled with super healthy recipes that needed a bunch of special ingredients, but that is not what this cookbook is about at all。 Instead you will find recipes that you actually want to make and probably have many if not all of the ingredients for already! We had been planning a New Year’s Brunch and I kept finding yet another recipe that I wanted to make for it。 Who wouldn’t want to come to a brunch were you were served Sausage Buttermilk Biscuits, Pecan Waffles with Maple-Bacon Butter, Carrot Cake Steel-Cut Oats with Cream Cheese Yogurt and Honey Glazed Pecans, Grilled Stone Fruit and Honey-Basil Salad, Salted Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Sweet Grass Cake (Winter Citrus Olive Oil Cake)!!And there were at least 10 more recipes that I wanted to make too。Not only are the recipes delicious and (for the most part) pretty easy to make, but each recipe has a paragraph with a background story on how the recipe came to be, and there are gorgeous photos throughout the book。 Even if you’re not an athlete you will find lots of winning recipes in Feeding the Frasers。 。。。more
JennaMarie,
So many delicious recipes! I love trying out new foods to make and this gives such a great variety!
Sara (A Gingerly Review),
This is a refreshing and healthy cookbook。 The recipes are easy to follow and delicious。 I hope everyone gives this one a chance。
Joni Owens,
I had no idea who the Frasers were when I picked up this cookbook。 As soon as I read the husband is a CrossFit champion I kinda groaned thinking I had picked up a strict diet cookbook。 I was so so wrong。 For someone that did not grow up cooking (the author), Sammy knows what she’s doing now! Page after page of deliciousness! From breakfast to dessert and everything in between。 Gorgeous pictures, delicious recipes, with easy to follow instructions。 What more could you ask for?

The recipes are well written and understandable by cooks of all levels and the photos make the food very appealing to myself and other lovers of food out there and they will work if you just want to eat healthily or are in training。I especially love the book because it uses mostly whole ingredients instead of pre-prepared and packaged foods。 My husband says that I never have any food in the house, only ingredients --- that is why I cook so much。 I also refuse to eat or cook with Frankenfoods such as "chick'n" and its 88 ingredients vs。 🐔chicken🐔 having one and cheese that does not come from an animal is udder nonsense!) 。。。more
Connie Wilson,
Read the recipes that look healthy, easy to fix, appealing to the eye & would taste Wonderful。 Looking forward to trying out these dishes
Janet,
There are several recipes that will become a favorite at my dinner table。 This was a Goodreads giveaway winner。
TheReaderWho,
Pleasantly surprised by the range of recipes in this book。 While some are more gourmet sounding than others, I saw several recipes that could easily make it into my repertoire of meals and snacks。 Won the cookbook in an ARC in a goodreads giveaway。 However, glad to have it in my collection of cookbooks。
Heatherterrybell,
I am a cookbook snob but really enjoyed the recipe possibilities in this one。 Lots of cultural recipes and some great stories。 Part of a goodreads giveaway
